In this sense, the month of August was no exception.<\/p>\n<p>After wanting to <em>\u201csubdue the refractory\u201d<\/em> CHUM (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/canada\/montreal\/muhc-doctor-assisted-death-palliative-care-quebec-1.3663615\">&gt;&gt;<\/a>) and having <em>\u201csnubbed\u201d<\/em> the MUHC staff (<a href=\"http:\/\/ici.radio-canada.ca\/regions\/Montreal\/2016\/07\/04\/003-cusm-politique-soins-fin-vie-clarifications-promesse-ameliorations.shtml\">&gt;&gt;<\/a>), the Minister of Health continued his public campaign of intimidation against \u201copponents\u201d of euthanasia. This time, the criticism of Dr. Ga\u00e9tan Barrette was discharged on La Maison Albatros (<a href=\"http:\/\/ici.radio-canada.ca\/regions\/mauricie\/2016\/08\/17\/005-maison-rene-verrier-drummondville-medecins-hopital-aide-medicale-mourir-gaetan-barrette.shtml?isAutoPlay=1\">&gt;&gt;<\/a>) because they exercised their legal right not to euthanize a patient in their establishment. By transferring the patient to the hospital, the hospice of Trois-Rivi\u00e8res has attracted the wrath\u00a0of the media (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/canada\/montreal\/maison-albatros-palliative-end-of-life-1.3725609\">&gt;&gt;<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Following this unfortunate incident, many of you have responded to our invitation to contact the people who work in the hospice to offer words of support. We sincerely thank you:\u00a0your words have certainly touched them and will give staff the courage to continue their mission of humanly accompanying people at the end of their lives without delaying or hastening death.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, September will see the release of a much-anticipated documentary: <em>The Euthanasia Deception<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/175284665\">&gt;&gt;<\/a>). Filmed in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Canada, the one-hour documentary \u2013 presented by the <a href=\"http:\/\/alexschadenberg.blogspot.ca\">Euthanasia Prevention Coalition<\/a> in association with <a href=\"http:\/\/dunnmedia.ca\">DunnMedia<\/a> \u2013 presents powerful testimonies of people devastated by the false ideology of euthanasia.<\/p>\n<p>According to the producers of the documentary, the film aims to \u201cdismantle three key deceptive ideas used to promote euthanasia,\u201d notably in refuting the claim that euthanasia and assisted suicide are a form of compassion, debunking the myth of autonomy, and demonstrating that the \u201csafeguards\u201d of the government cannot protect vulnerable people.
