Around 200 people held a vigil against euthanasia and Bill 52 in front of the\u00a0Quebec National Assembly.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-BD7DYYKHo5w\/UwTbw7knUXI\/AAAAAAAAAVY\/rZVK6TBw0Nk\/s1600\/2014-02-18+17.37.07.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-BD7DYYKHo5w\/UwTbw7knUXI\/AAAAAAAAAVY\/rZVK6TBw0Nk\/s320\/2014-02-18+17.37.07.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Coming from the four cornes of Quebec, they peacefully demonstrated. Dr. Claude Morin of Rassemblement qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois contre l'euthanasie, Dr. Catherine Ferrier from the Collective of Doctors against euthanasia, Dr. Fran\u00e7ois Primeau and Nicolas Steenhout from Living with Dignity\u00a0encouraged the demonstrators to continue their\u00a0fight\u00a0againt euthanasia. Other citizens also made impromptu speeches.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-hyzxs2ZOZLU\/UwTbwjBkbXI\/AAAAAAAAAVU\/R3QfPtjZza4\/s1600\/BgzfyiCIAAANRpZ.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-hyzxs2ZOZLU\/UwTbwjBkbXI\/AAAAAAAAAVU\/R3QfPtjZza4\/s320\/BgzfyiCIAAANRpZ.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Each one and other\u00a0witnessed their experiences in a convincing and touching way,\u00a0whether as health\u00a0professionals,\u00a0as\u00a0patients\u00a0or as\u00a0caregivers. They denounced the risks that Bill 52 represents\u00a0for vulnerable people like the elderly or the handicapped.\u00a0Everyone agreed on the uselessness\u00a0of the Bill\u00a0when modern medecine\u00a0can\u00a0soothe pain,\u00a0including the most persistent\u00a0pains \u2013\u00a0thanks to palliative\u00a0sedation (which is already legalized). They\u00a0reminded everyone that Bill 52\u00a0went against\u00a0the Canadian\u00a0criminal code.<\/p>\n<p>Even though the media was invited, none came to cover the event...<\/p>\n<p>The National Assembly\u00a0risks adopting\u00a0the\u00a0bill today or tomorrow.
