They just have to examine what is happening in Belgium. Bill 52 was closely modeled on Belgian law. There are misuses, such as the recent case of a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lepoint.fr\/monde\/un-belge-euthanasie-apres-une-operation-de-changement-de-sexe-ratee-02-10-2013-1738312_24.php\">transsexual\u00a0who died of\u00a0euthanasia\u00a0following a botched operation<\/a>.<br \/>\nWhat's more, Bill\u00a052 is unclear,\u00a0there are not enough\u00a0definitions.\u00a0Important concepts\u00a0such as\u00ab\u00a0medical aid in dying\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0or \u00ab\u00a0end-of-life \u00bb are undefined.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q: What impact\u00a0would Bill 52 have on Quebec Health Services, if it is adopted?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A: We will lose a great deal of our palliative care professionals. 90 % of palliative care specialists are against Bill 52 and many have said that they will not continue to work in the domain if the bill is adopted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q: Why should we prevent it?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A: A law such as this is unnecessary. In the current context, it's possible for a person to decide to stop treatments, to stop feeding and hydration.
