Belgium adopted euthanasia for children a few months ago. Anneke Stoffelen tells us in Volksrant that pediatricians in the Netherlands now suggest legalizing euthanasia for children under the age of 12. This suggestion is particularly worrying because the decision for euthanasia would be made by doctors and parents, without needing the consent of the child. We are talking about legalizing involuntary euthanasia.

Andrée Champagne says she’s worried that “medical aid in dying” is now allowed in Quebec. After nearly 9 years in the Canadian Senate, Mrs. Champagne is retiring. According to a television program in the Netherlands, Altijd Wat Monitor, some pharmacists are refusing to dispense the products used to euthanise patients. This is annoying the physicians at an “end of life clinic” (whose only function is to conduct euthanasia).

Some pharmacists base their refusal on (religious) conviction, but many refuse simply because they disagree with the particular act of euthanasia, especially for people suffering from dementia, or for people who simply expressed they were “tired of living”.
