Suicide prevention week in Quebec is happening from the 1st to the 7th of February 2015. This is an important activity considering the high number of people affected, directly or not, by suicide. An article in the Journal de Montréal this week mentions the high suicide rate for the elderly in Quebec.

Bill S-225 was recently introduced in the Senate of Canada. This bill aims to legalize euthanasia and assisted suicide. It would do this by amending sections 14 and 251 of the Criminal Code of Canada. We oppose the legalization of euthanasia and physician assisted suicide because they are not needed.
