Demystifying Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)

June is the awareness month for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), better known as Lou Gehrig disease. In Canada, close to 3000 people are afflicted with ALS, an incurable disease which gradually brings on total paralysis and whose causes remain unknown to this day. Incurable, ALS is the most common cause of death from neurological disease in the country.
