How similar the debates are! The title says much on our incapacity as a society to really live together without discrimination towards the most vulnerable: i.e people in end-of-life, the sick, the elderly who are alone and neglected. In the medias we hear about the loss of autonomy of the sick or of people afflicted with degenerative diseases.
Should we reflect as a society on our own capabilities regarding real compassion? Should we wake-up to our own loss of sight to really accompany those who are the most in need? Should we not bring a soft touch to those who are leaving us?
How can our occidental societies rediscover the real sense of human solidarity?
